MAD SCIENCE: Not only do our classroom teachers prepare an exciting experiment every week, but we also work with the “Mad Science” programme, that encourages scientific literacy in children in an age when science is as vital as reading, writing and arithmetic. Sponsored by NASA, the Mad Science team has invested in research and development for more than 30 years and they continue to do so.
STEM: Young children enjoy solving problems and exploring the world through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). STEM-based education teaches children more than science and mathematics concepts. The focus on hands-on learning with real-world applications helps develop a variety of skill sets, including creativity and 21st-century skills. Our students at develop new STEM toys with their teachers on a regular basis.
The goal of science activities at the preschool age is not to memorize facts but rather how to gain knowledge through observations, experimentation, and play! Science is about connecting children’s senses to the world around them. As educators, we must spark this curiosity and sense of wonder especially when they are young so they continue to ask questions as they grow older.
